Organizational carbon footprint calculation as part of Prakticum’s sustainability strategy
Etteplan conducted a carbon footprint calculation for Prakticum, a vocational school in Finland. This initiative aligns with Prakticum’s commitment to enhance environmental awareness and reporting in line with national climate goals. The conducted carbon footprint calculation and related development measures are also a key part of Prakticum’s new sustainability strategy for 2026-2030.
Sustainable development is integral to all vocational qualifications. Prakticum wanted to implement an organizational-level carbon footprint calculation, as they aim to meet the increasing demand for sustainable development expertise and demonstrate to their staff, students, and work-life partners that they are committed to reducing their carbon footprint.

The collaboration kick-off
The project started with a kickoff meeting where the goals, schedule, and data collection implementation were defined. The Etteplan team actively supported the data collection process, ensuring that all necessary information was gathered.
Once the initial data was collected and evaluated, Etteplan began the actual carbon footprint calculation and reporting. In the results meeting, Prakticum's staff received a report detailing the current state of the carbon footprint and recommendations for future climate actions.
