Leadership Profiles: Artur Mroczkowski

In the Leadership Profiles series, we present employees who, while working at Etteplan, act according to our values, promoting a culture of growth and innovation. The person who fully deserves our attention is Arthur Mroczkowski, Director, CEE Software Services.

1. How do you see yourself as a leader?

I align closely with the leadership model advocated by Simon Sinek. As a leader, I strive to create an environment based on deep trust, empathy, and collaboration. My goal is to create a sense of security and comfort for my team members, allowing them to fully unleash their potential while facing the challenges ahead. Another crucial aspect is the sense of ownership and accountability I take on when making key decisions – embracing the idea that "no risk, no story." I believe this attitude builds authority and trust.

2. How does Etteplan support you as a leader and your development in this role?

Etteplan supports my development as a leader in several ways. Firstly, the E-lead program has been instrumental in helping me integrate into our organizational culture. Additionally, the company provides an environment where I can take empowerment and accountability, allowing me the freedom to experiment, explore, and find my own path while providing the necessary guidance and direction within the implemented operating framework. This approach enables me to try new things and grow in various areas, expanding my visibility and activity both internally and externally.

3. How would you describe the organizational culture at Etteplan?

The Etteplan culture is built on a foundation of trust and cooperation, reflecting our value of Smarter Together. This solid base is further strengthened by autonomy, freedom of action, and empowerment. This unique combination acts as a catalyst for innovative thinking at all levels, from employee development to customer value creation initiatives.

In such an environment, where trust and collaboration are paramount, we encourage our team members to take initiative and think creatively without fear of failure. This approach enhances individual growth and drives collective success, enabling us to deliver exceptional solutions to our clients. Additionally, our commitment to autonomy and empowerment ensures that every voice is heard and every idea is valued, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and shared achievements. Through these principles, Etteplan consistently strives to be a leader in innovation and excellence, always aiming to exceed expectations and set new standards in our industry.

4. How do you feel that you have a real impact on the company's culture?

My behaviors are fully consistent with the values we have collectively chosen as Etteplan employees through the combined efforts of the entire organization. I strive to lead by example, showing others that my actions align with our principles. By consistently embodying these values, I aim to inspire my colleagues to do the same, fostering a culture of integrity and collaboration. I actively participate in initiatives that promote our core values, and through these efforts, I help to create an environment where everyone feels empowered to contribute to our collective success and drive our organization forward.

5. What do the three most important values upheld at Etteplan, namely Forward Focus, Bold Thinking, and Smarter Together, mean to you?

Smarter Together is the foundation on which we can co-develop something greater. It involves learning from the experiences of others, not just our own mistakes. This reminds me of an anecdote: What is the difference between a wise person and an intelligent person? An intelligent person learns from the experiences of the wise. Similarly, with Smarter Together, we learn from each other.

Forward Focus means concentrating on the future, setting a clear vision and goal that becomes our North Star. These two values are closest to me because they are essential for actively shaping the future rather than passively waiting for it to unfold. Additionally, there is a third value: Bold Thinking. This embodies the courage to take risks, which will help us achieve our goals.

6. How do these values translate into practice?

By bringing the principles of Forward Focus to life, I emphasize the importance of precisely defining our identity, who we want to be, and the value we create for clients and employees. I drive various initiatives within this value creation space, such as career development for our employees and value-based offerings for our customers, while crystallizing our business ambitions, technology strategy, and the portfolio of solutions we aspire to develop.

Commercially, I undertake initiatives to position Etteplan as a partner in Data Engineering & AI and as an industrial digitization expert, including MES solutions. In business and beyond, we need a clear direction – our North Star, a vision that unites us and defines who we want to be and the clients we aspire to work with. This aligns with Bold Thinking; when combined with high levels of autonomy and empowerment, we can not only meet expectations but exceed them. In the spirit of Smarter Together, we build a well-networked organization, investing significant effort into fostering cooperation between different functions and regions.

7. If you could give one piece of advice on any topic, what would it be?

Never give up! I strongly believe in the power of purpose. Every dream can be turned into a goal, and every goal can be broken down into actions. Being consistent and persistent, no matter what, can take you wherever you want to go. Remember, direction is more important than pace. Small progress is still progress, so keep chasing your dreams!
