Etteplan to be one of the main organizers of Sweden’s largest AI hackathon ‘Hackaping 2025’, together with Linköping University, Google, IoT World and Cillers

Etteplan is proud to be one of the main organizers of Hackaping 2025, Sweden’s largest AI hackathon, together with other main organizers Linköping University, Google, IoT World and Cillers. The hackathon will be organized at Linköping University on April 4, 2025, and it is focusing on exploring the possibilities of AI as well as combining developers and decision-makers to explore how AI can enhance business-critical processes. Being part of Hackaping 2025 helps Etteplan to connect with students and industry leaders to together cure the challenges that companies are facing at the moment.

A hackathon is an event where people come together to collaborate on software or hardware projects over a short period in order to solve a problem or identify new opportunities. Participants, often including developers, designers, and other tech enthusiasts, form teams to work on innovative solutions, often resulting in prototypes or products by the end of the event. Hackathons stand apart from typical work projects due to their exploratory nature; hackathons are creative endeavors where participants, working under tight deadlines, develop innovative solutions that demonstrate the potential of new technologies.

Hackathons attract participants for various reasons: the creative atmosphere, the possibility to network and the opportunity to learn new techniques outside their usual work as well as the platform to compete and demonstrate their skills. These diverse motivations converge at hackathons, fostering incredible energy and enriching learning experiences.

Participants receive preparatory materials before the event and they will work in teams during the hackathon to tackle various challenges, known as tracks, which have been developed in collaboration with corporate partners. In Hackaping 2025, the tracks include for example Customer Support, Employee Scheduling, Product Search, Supply Chain, and Production & Logistics Simulation.

Participants present their solutions to a jury that evaluates the ideas based on relevance and potential. The most innovative solutions that match the companies' needs may be further developed in collaboration. Hackaping’s jury consists of executives from Sweden’s largest and most prominent companies like Ericsson, Volvo Cars, Atlas Copco, H&M, Assa Abloy, Sandvik, IKEA, ICA, SEB, Nordea, Åhléns and Husqvarna.

The theme of the Hackaping 2025 is very well aligned with Etteplan’s recently renewed strategy “ Transformation with AI ”. Etteplan’s AI-powered service solutions are at the core of the company’s updated strategy, and the company’s target is to increase the share of revenue derived from AI-driven service solutions developed by Etteplan to 35 percent by the end of 2027.
