Etteplan to partner with Metsä Tissue in its Mariestad’s mill expansion and modernization project in Sweden

Etteplan has been commissioned to perform Balance of Plant (BoP) engineering at Metsä Tissue’s Mariestad mill expansion and modernization project. The collaboration is part of Metsä Tissue’s Future Mill development program, aiming at world class environmental and operational performance in tissue production.

Metsä Tissue, part of the Metsä Group, is investing in to a fossil free future at its Mariestad mill in Sweden. Metsä Tissue is investing in total 370 MEUR in the expansion and modernisation of the mill, making the investment one of the largest in the tissue business in Europe and the largest within Metsä Tissue.

The construction works started during spring 2023 and the renewed mill is planned to be operational in the second half of 2025.
