Scania’s subsidiary SOE Busproduction Finland Oy to outsource its design unit to Etteplan
Etteplan and Scania have agreed on the outsourcing of Scania’s subsidiary SOE Busproduction Finland Oy’s design unit. The agreement is related to Scania’s decision to reorganize. It includesthe transfer of 29 SOE Busproduction’s design engineering employees to Etteplan as existing employees as of April 1, 2023.
“We warmly welcome the 29 experts to the Etteplan team. The agreed outsourcing contract strengthens Etteplan’s position and capabilities in vehicle engineering and enhances our capabilities in related technologies and testing”, says Riku Riikonen, SVP for Engineering Solutions at Etteplan.
“I’m proud that the expertise of SOE personnel is the main driver for the agreement with Etteplan. This agreement brings continuity to the work and careers of the design engineering employees. The design units will access great opportunities in Etteplan's projects and in developing new skills and competencies in new areas in the future”, says Jani Helviö, CEO of SOE Busproduction Finland.
“We also see benefits in strengthening our market position in the Lahti region, which has notable heritage in the vehicle production and design industry and where Etteplan in addition to this agreement already has specialists and several significant customers”, Riikonen concludes.
