Etteplan MORE to implement digitalization of Posti’s parcel services

The OmaPosti kiosk self-service terminal is a new addition to Posti’s digital services. It is a device that allows customers to handle their own postal matters, such as paying for and sending parcels. If they wish, customers can contact Posti’s customer service via a video call. Etteplan’s software development unit Etteplan MORE is responsible for implementing and delivering the OmaPosti kiosk self-service terminals.
OmaPosti kiosk self-service terminals are available at Posti’s Box, opened on Keskuskatu in Helsinki (https://www.posti.com/media/mediauutiset/2019/box-avautuu/), which is a space in the heart of Helsinki with a focus on e-commerce. Box is designed for Posti’s consumer customers and online retailers and also functions as a testing space for the self-service terminals. Posti is looking to accelerate growth in e-commerce with these innovative concepts.
The plan is to use the self-service terminals in OmaPosti kiosks to be opened in the future. These will supplement Posti’s service network in a whole new way. The kiosks contain parcel lockers in addition to the self-service terminals.
In the next few years, Posti intends to significantly expand the OmaPosti network. Posti’s strategy is to seek strong growth in parcel and e-commerce and logistics, and Etteplan MORE will help it achieve this goal.
The first OmaPosti kiosk self-service terminal delivered by Etteplan MORE was taken into use in Askola in summer 2019. Posti was awarded for this work with the “Retail/Customer Service Innovation of the Year 2019” award at the Parcel and Post expo (https://www.parcelandpostexpo.com/en/awards.php).

Etteplan’s software unit Etteplan MORE has a long-term partnership with Posti, with responsibility for maintaining the software for Posti’s parcel lockers. Etteplan MORE is in charge of the technical support and maintenance of the parcel locker software. During 2019, the maintenance cooperation expanded to also include SmartPost parcel lockers which are located in residential buildings and at workplaces.
