Etteplan’s IoT support website for innovators is launched

Etteplan has launched an IoT website at the address www.etteplan.com/futurecitychallenge2018 . The website is part of Finland’s largest innovative IoT competition, Future City Challenge, organized by Etteplan together with Digita and IBM. The website includes plenty of technical information that the competitors need when solving urban challenges using IoT technology.

“Etteplan is a leading LoRa network technology expert. The LoRa network is a data transfer network especially adapted to IoT applications. We have supplied several network solutions, which gives us deep insight into the challenges faced by the competitors. We wish to make our comprehensive expertise available to them, to ensure that the competitors can focus on developing innovations, ” says Etteplan’s Technology Director, Jaakko Ala-Paavola .

The competition also involves coaching sessions with Etteplan’s local IoT experts. The events will take place in the Helsinki region, Tampere, Jyväskylä and Oulu between November and January, and the experts will be there to answer the participating teams’ trickiest questions. Future City Challenge 2018

Future City Challenge is an IoT competition with the aim of designing new solutions and applications to make the everyday lives of city dwellers easier. The cities participating in the competition are Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Oulu, Jyväskylä and Tampere.

The competition is aimed at companies, start-ups and students. Participants will be granted access to the cities’ open data and Digita’s IoT network and they will have access to the latest tools.

In this way, technology will be used to solve cities’ real-life challenges such as parking problems, crowded sports facilities or making the urban environment more inviting. Etteplan supports the participants through its IoT expertise.
