Etteplan has received a significant order from SRV concerning the detail engineering of the Okhta Mall to be constructed in St. Petersburg by SRV. According to the agreement, Etteplan will be responsible for the mall’s building technology, such as HVAC, electrical, telecommunications and security systems. Etteplan also participated in the permit planning process for SRV’s shopping mall project.

The shopping mall, to be opened in spring 2016, is located in central St. Petersburg. According to SRV, the total value of the investment is some EUR 250 million. The total floor area of the mall will be approximately 144, 000 m² of which 75, 000 m² will be leased space.

– We selected Etteplan as our partner because our main goal is to minimize the operating costs of the Okhta Mall using methods made possible by today’s technology. In addition, Etteplan’s experience in the Russian markets decreases the risks linked to the construction project, ” explains Jukka Kähärä, SRV’s Project Director.

– Russia is an important and growing market area for Etteplan and provides work especially for the company’s offices in eastern Finland, in particular in the form of building services and production plant projects. Etteplan’s assets are its Russian engineering permits and its longstanding experience concerning local engineering requirements, ” says Veikko Lamminen, SVP, Operations Finland.
