Fortum Värme outsources technical documentation to Etteplan

Press release – Published: 27.06.2013 6:00:00

Etteplan has signed a three-year outsourcing agreement with Fortum Värme that covers the unit responsible for technical documentation. The contract signing was preceded by a tender process. AB Fortum Värme is a Fortum company, owned jointly with the City of Stockholm.

The agreement will come into force as of July 1, 2013 and comprises the documentation for all of Fortum Värme’s plants in the Stockholm region. The agreement affects twelve of Fortum Värme’s employees and seven subcontractors.

“The reason behind the outsourcing was the need to develop the technical documentation function. As there are service providers, whose core business is technical product information, it was natural to consider outsourcing as an alternative.

While evaluating different suppliers we placed great importance on competence and experience in technical documentation as well as on commitment to develop the documentation function. It was equally important that the service provider is an attractive employer to the employees concerned, ” says Anders Egelrud, Managing Director at Fortum Värme.

Etteplan is specialized in services taking overall responsibility of the customer’s functions such as technical documentation. “Fortum Värme’s business suits well to our competencies and an outsourcing agreement in this area is in line with Etteplan’s strategy. We are also delighted to welcome our highly competent new employees joining us from Fortum Värme”, says Kristian Niklasson, Business Unit Director at Etteplan.
