Etteplan cooperates with Lamor in developing its next-generation oil skimmer systems

Etteplan and Lamor Corporation will jointly develop an innovative skimmer system to be used in oil recovery operations. Lamor is a Finnish privately held company specialized in advanced oil spill response (OSR) equipment and recovery operations. Etteplan is a Finnish listed company specialized in industrial equipment engineering and technical product information.
Lamor commissioned Etteplan to design and develop in cooperation a ready-to-use oil recovery system featuring innovative mobility and functionality not previously seen in oil skimmers. The next generation oil recovery system consists of a skimmer, a skimmer lifting mechanism, attachment equipment and a boom which all fit in a mobile 20 feet container. Traditional skimmer systems are designed to be fixed on specialized vessels dedicated for oil recovery operations.
Due to its state-of-the-art functionality and mobility the next generation skimmer systems can be efficiently and effectively installed on any vessel with a flat deck. The new skimmer systems will be fully operational within 10 to 15 minutes after installation and improve significantly the preparedness to start oil recovery operations on any type of vessel with a flat deck.
