ETTEPLAN AND METSO PAPER SIGNED A CO-OPERATION AGREEMENT

Etteplan Oyj and Metso Paper, Inc., a member of Metso Corporation, 
have signed an agreement on transfer of Metso Paper Karhula unit's
head box mechanical design services to Etteplan. Metso Paper will
purchase design services from Etteplan according to a separate agreement.
As part of the agreement 6 designers from the Metso Paper's Karhula unit
will transfer to Etteplan under their current terms of employment.

At the same time with the signing of co-operation agreement Etteplan Oyj
has increased its share of ownership in Insinööritoimisto Keskilinja Oy
from 60 % to 100 %. Presently Keskilinja employs 46 persons. The company
operates in Vaajakoski and Lappeenranta providing mechanical and automation
design services especially for the machinery and device manufacturers
in the wood processing industry.

Metso Paper, Inc. belongs to Metso Paper, representing the core business
of fiber and paper technology of Metso Corporation, a global supplier of
process industry machinery and systems, as well as know-how and aftermarket
services. In 2003, the net sales of Metso Corporation were EUR 4.3 billion
and the personnel totalled approximately 27,400. Metso Corporation is listed
on the Helsinki and New York Stock Exchanges.
